Josh Hutcherson

Josh Hutcherson does not have a special acting education, and his grandfather, a professional psychologist, gradually pushed him to choose a profession. He instilled in his grandson an interest in human characters, explained what forms his core, what then grows to this core, why people in the same situation behave differently. And Josh felt that he liked to try on different images, to play with them.

Childhood and youth

Josh Hutcherson was born in the small town of Union, located in the US state of Kentucky. Chris Hutcherson, Josh’s father, was an analyst at an environmental organization. Mother Michelle Fightmaster at the time of her son’s birth worked for Delta Air Lines. She would later become Josh’s personal assistant. The family also has a younger son, Connor.

In 2002, Josh met acting teacher Bob Luke, who advised him to try his hand at auditions in Los Angeles instead of local auditions. The 10-year-old actor moves to Hollywood with his mother and gets his first feature film role.
